My Thoughts:
I'm a little iffy on this novel. I both liked it and disliked. Why? Well, I am an Amish lover to no end, but, two of the books in this novella were a bit bland for me. It seemed to me that the authors just sort of ran on and on about much of the same circumstances. However, Healing Hearts was one that I truly enjoyed. Of course, I am hooked on Beth Wiseman and will forever be a fan of her work.

Please don't let my thoughts discourage anyone from reading this novella. I am just so used to one kind of thing and then read something that isn't my favorite, and I am giving my honest opinion. This will not stop me, however, from reading more Amish novellas and novels in the future from these authors, as I am sure that their talent will put forth something that I will enjoy beyond words.

Possession by Rene Gutteridge

My Thoughts:
Being a lover of suspense, I knew that I would love this book. And, as predicted, I did. It certainly was filled with everything I look for in a good suspense novel. The twists, the turns, the page turning breathless gasps, the deep and meaningful characters that supply all of these things through the plot. Rene Gutteridge is new to me, and because I am highly pleased with the work of this talented lady, she is one that I will read again and again.

Having a retired military husband and living in Virginia and dealing alot with DC, this plot line really pulled me in. I was instantly in the middle of the heart racing action and suspense as I read about Vance Graegan and his wife, and the DC sniper case. It was life like and very fast paced. Definitely filled with lots of action and keeps the reader hanging on.

If you like edge of your seat suspense, then you definitely want to get a copy of this great novel by a highly talented author. I will be on the look out for more work by this author in the future.

Almost Heaven by Chris Fabry

My Thoughts:
What does a person write about a book that let them utterly speechless? There is not must that I CAN write about it. This book is wonderful. It is very emotional and thought provoking in a way that is beyond measure. I normally have words for books that I read, but this book, I had to ponder on my thoughts for a long while before being able to form the right words. This innovating and gripping story is one that should not be over looked. The characters are real, the plot is captivating and the author himself is truly talented.

I highly recommend this book to all readers. Grab a copy, sit back with a cup of coffee and lose yourself amongst the pages and the musical tones of bluegrass, as you befriend an angel named Malachi and sweet and tough hillybilly man named Billy.

My Thoughts:
This unique book is wonderful. It's full of hymns that I remember from way back when. I loved the cover. It really caught my eye immediately and I knew I had to have it. I already have a copy of Then Sings My Soul so I wanted to added to my collection. The hymns in this special edition are perfect for the holidays, complete with stories that tell of each hymn.

If you love music, or you just simply love inspiration, then this Special Edition hymn book is perfect for you. With Thanksgiving and Christmas just around the corner, this beautiful book, with it's 150 hymn,antiqued pages would make the wonderful gift for a music fan in your life. If you are looking for new hymnals for your church, may I suggest copies of this tenderly created hymn book? It's sure to be a hit everywhere!

Dining With Joy by Rachel Hauck

My Thoughts:
While this was not one of my favorite books, I will say that I do think Mrs. Hauck has a talent for writing. She really knows how to blend the characters with the plot to create a story that someone is sure to love. I, myself, just couldn't get into the story enough to really try to figure out what was going on.

Now, I am not telling you this to be negative. On the contrary. I think that you should give this book a shot. It is one that my daughter will love (she is a fan of Rachel Hauck's) but I am not so much of a romantic contemporary lover. I really thought this book would be more to my liking, but, sadly it wasn't.

Please, give this book a try anyhow. It does deserve a chance, just not for a grandma like me.

Where Hearts Are Free by Golden Keyes Parsons

My Thoughts:
I must say that this is not my style of book. I just couldn't get into the story line of this book. It may be that I'm used to a certain genre of books, or that I am just not used to this author, but it wasn't to my liking.

That doesn't mean it's not good for someone out there. If you are a Golden Parsons fan, then definitely check this book out. If you like the stories that are set in the 1600's and way back in history, then you will like Golden's style of writing.

This will be a book that I will pass on to my daughter in hopes that she enjoys it better than I did.

My Thoughts:
I can't lie that I didn't like this book very well.I didn't like it, well, simply because I loved it! When you read a Candace Calvert novel you can't go wrong. Code Triage is book 3 in her Mercy Hospital series and it accentuates the other two PERFECTLY.

I love the messages that Candace adds to her books, and the heros and heroines that she constructs with her love and care. It's amazing to read a book like this and feel like it is really happening, right in front of you.

This particular novel has everything from crime, to drama, to romance and a smidgen of mystery. But the overall message from God about second chances and His redeeming love. A wonderful thrilling new novel to unwind with at the end of a stressful day.

I highly, highly recommend this new novel to everyone out there in the reading world. You want want to miss the other books by this author, either!

The Least Among You DVD

A prison sentence looming, Richard meets Samuel Benton (Louis Gossett, Jr.) -- “the gardener in the basement.” As Samuel guides Richard through his many trials, Richard must choose between his dreams and his destiny.

My Thoughts:
What can I say other than WOW. This was an amazing movie. My family and I are movie lovers and, with two young grandchildren, we have to watch what we watch. So, when this particular movie became available to review, I was excited about the chance to review it. I felt that it would be a wonderful lesson for my young children to see that color is just that. Color. It doesn't make us any different in Gods eyes. We are all the same no matter our age, race or denomination.

This movie not only had wonderful actors and actresses to round out the plot, it was entertaining in the way that gets your gears in your mind to rolling. I cried a little and I laughed a little but most importantly, I felt the love of God shine through this movie and I recommend it HIGHLY to everyone.

Lee(The Generals) Goodness in Action by John Perry

A powerful, compact biography of Robert E. Lee, focusing on how his intrinsic goodness shaped everything from his battle tactics to his treatment of his troops.

It’s no surprise that Robert E. Lee graduated second in his class from West Point. His four years there were marked by exemplary conduct and nary a demerit. He went on to become one of the most successful generals of the Confederate army during the American Civil War, inspiring his troops with his unselfish character and devotion to duty. Lee’s string of victories earned him praise on both sides of the Mason-Dixon line. He was admired for his tactical success in battle, and even after surrendering to Ulysses S. Grant at the Appomatox court house, his example of conduct for thousands of ex-Confederates made him a legend. After the war, he assumed the presidency of Washington College and devoted the remainder of his life to setting an example of conduct. He remains one of the most distinguished military heroes of all time.

My Thoughts:
Seeing as how I am from the North, I would be more partial to Grant. But since, I am now living in the South, I decided to give the South a try and review this book. I was surprised at what all I learned from this book! Perry did this biography in a way that doesn't bore you to tears, nor does it drag on and on, like many biographies do. General Lee really was brought to life through Perry's research and writing. I was highly intrigued by all the things he wrote about and brought into perspective.

This is a book that I will gladly share with my husband, whom loves General Lee, as well as anyone else who may want an in depth look at the life of a famous General.

The Boy Who Changed the World by Andy Andrews

The book is beautifully illustrated and shares the stories of Nobel Laureate Norman Borlaug, Vice President Henry Wallace, Inventor George Washington Carver, and Farmer Moses Carver. Through the stories of each, a different butterfly will appear. The book will end with a flourish of butterflies and a charge to the child that they, too, can be the boy or girl who changes the world.

My Thoughts:
I have two grandsons, ages 8 and 6. They love books of all kinds for kids and I think they loved this one the best! It is beautifully illustrated and the words are enough to hold the child's interest through out the entire story.

The wonderful and powerful message of a sort of Pay-It-Forward deed shows children of all ages that it is best to do good, like God, and the world will become a better place for it. You can really feel God through these pages and that is a bonus for children!

This is a book that I would suggest to people for Sunday School read aloud books, a permanent home library or a story time class. It's really beautiful and will hold both boys and girls' attentions!

Still House Pond by Jan Watson

Lilly Gray Corbett loves living on Troublesome Creek, but she would much rather play with her best friend than watch her little brother and the twins. My Thoughts:
Having missed book 1 in this series I wasn't quite as pleased with this book. I think, had I read book 1, I would have enjoyed this one hundred percent more than I did.

That being said, I didn't hate this book. It is one that has a powerful story line with characters that are created in a way that come to life when you read about them. The author writes with the strength and ability of a seasoned author who's hands are guided by God as she writes.

I would defintely read more books by this author. I would also recommend this book to others, only if they have read book 1 in this series. I do plan to go back and read the first book in this series sometime in the near future, followed by this one again so I can enjoy this one more.

Resurrection in May by Lisa Samson

May Seymour graduated from college with the world at her feet and no idea what to do with it. A mission trip to Rwanda brought her a sense of purpose in loving others. So when the genocide began she chose to remain in the village, which was subsequently slaughtered. Only May survived.

Eli slowly begins to pull May from her cloistered existence. With the help of Eli, their tiny town, and ultimately a renewal of faith, May comes to life once again.

My Thoughts:
Lately I've been reading a lot of suspense novels, so having the chance to read Resurrection in May was a nice but extremely emotional break from all those adrenaline rushes. Lisa Samson is a new author for me, but one that is fabulous with her work. She is an author I will be checking into for more of her books.

In this book, I felt a tug at my heart for May. She was a tender character full of love and compassion, questions and heartache. I wasn't overly fond of Eli at first introduction, but my heart softened towards him in the end. The characters, ALL of them, were the depth and soul of this novel. Between them and a movement of God, I needed to take stock in Kleenex with this one!

I will be passing this book along to my family and friends with high kudos to Lisa Samson for an incredible story!

Between the study notes, and the layout, this is a perfect Bible for every special guy in your life. Through this particular Bible it truly shows the meaning of a Father's love, both heavenly and earthly. It is written in the New Century Version, making this Bible an easy-to-understand Bible. However, if you want to use this as a true STUDY Bible, I wouldn't recommend it....for a true Bible Study Bible I think you should read a King James Version.

Overall, this is a wonderful Father's day gift that you should get for that lucky man in your life. It is hardcover so it's at less of a risk for tearing, and it's wonderfully thought out by the author in a way to make it easily read. I definitely think you should give this Bible a try!

My Thoughts:
This is a truly beautiful Bible for mothers, daughters, grandmothers, girlfriends and wives. It's cute decor on the outside of pink camo really reflects the military life. In the front of the Bible is a prayer that is absolutely beautiful. It also has a section that tells what the Bible is all about, as well as an introduction to the NLT.

This Bible is compact and small enough that the military spouses or dependents can carry it with them anywhere. At the end of the Bible, which reads as a normal NLT Bible, there is a section giving everyone a sneak peak of the The One Year Yellow Ribbon Devotional book, which I think is fantastic.

Over all, this Bible is a perfect Bible for the military families. It will keep you close to the One who is protecting us all, including the members of the military.

My Thoughts:
This morning I received in the mail a wonderful little book. It's God's Promises for Boys. I requested to review this book, because if I liked it I want to pass it on to my grandsons. And let me say this: I am most definitely going to be passing this along to them!

Tommy Nelson is a branch of Thomas Nelson and a good one at that. They offer so many wonderful things for God's amazing little ones. This book is a wonderful one! It is a short book, easily read in one sitting, filled with colorful little pictures and life lessons for children. From being cool, to lying, to being saved, there are scripture verses and lessons about God's love and promises for even the smallest of children. Wonderful!

All in all this is a book that I highly suggest you all get for those rough and tumble little guys in your life! They will smile at the pictures and be in awe of the words of God, just for them. The authors really did an execellent job on this one!

A Summer Secret by Kathleen Fuller

My Thoughts:
I recieved this book this morning and sat down to read it, and ended up finishing the book! Delightful mystery! I love the combination of young Amish lives mixed with Godly lessons and suspense. I laughed, I prayed and I was intrigued by the mystery through out the whole book....and I'm a grandma!

But this is certainly a book I wouldn't mind reading again. Kathleen Fuller knew how to create magnificent novels for adults and now she has found a wonderful, clean way to include teens in better genre of books. She packs this book full of lessons, but does so in a way that will hook the young reader and keep them guessing til the end.

This is a book that I would recommend to all the young readers out there. It is something I wish my daughter had growing up! Kudos to Kathleen for a great job!

My Thoughts:
This book was a quick, light and easy read for me. It really gets your mind think about God's ways and the human nature. Tim Downs created a story that is full of humor to keep the reader pulled in and focused on the story. He also added enough suspense to the story to really leave me wondering what would happen next!

Tim Downs really brought out a theory about angels with this one. I am really glad that I was able to review this book for Booksneeze. It is one that I would suggest my daughter read as well as any other book lover out there!

My Thoughts:
I really wish that I would have had the chance to read all the books in this series. This particular book was a well written and well researched book. I think, being a military veteran and veteran's wife, it really hit home to me. It's a story that is full of love and laughter (and a little heartache!), friends and family, and faith. A book that I would highly recommend to others.

Colleen Coble has true amazing talent and I will recommend her as a talented author to my friends and family. I will also be on the look out for her other books and jump on the opportunity to read them! Well done.

You may be familiar with Lis Wiehl, who appears weekly on The O'Reilly Factor and on other FOX radio and television programs like Fox and Friends, Your World with Neil Cavuto, and Hannity, Alan Colmes, and others. And if you read closely, you may just recognize the inspiration behind Jim Fate, the controversial talk radio host featured in the novel (wink, wink).

My Thoughts:
I'm a huge crime book/ thriller book fan, so when the opportunity arose to review this book from Lis Wiehl, I did a happy dance. I was glad I reviewed, too, as it did not disappoint!

I would definitely recommend this book to crime lovers. It is a cleaner version of alot of crime styled books out there, since this is Christian-based. The fact that Lis Wiehl took something that can be real, and turned into a fiction novel, is terrific.

This book definitely goes on the top of my favorite list. It's full of twists and roller-coaster thrills that leaves you on the edge of your seat with white knuckle grips. A true page-turner, no questions asked! I am sad that I didn't get to read the first Triple Threat novel but will definitely be looking forward to the next book in this murder mystery series!

An Honest Love by Kathleen Fuller

When Lukas introuces himself, Anna can't resist her attraction to him. Though she finds herself falling in love, she's hiding a piece of her past in fear that their future will be destroyed if she tells him the truth.

But love can't be built on lies and the past comes rushing back to Anna in an irreversible way. Now Lukas must decide how he will react to Anna's betrayal. As they cling to their belief in an honest love, they realize it's a path they must walk together even as it leads to unexpected places.

My thoughts:
Thanks to my daughter, I am a HUGE Amish fiction fan. I'm from Pennsylvania and so I had the pleasure of getting to go to Lancaster County quite often. Reading about many new Amish areas (even if the stories themselves are fiction) is a reminiscent time for me.

An Honest Love is a wonderful new book by a very talented author! I have never had the pleasure of reading Kathleen's books before, so I was pleased to have the opportunity to try this book. It is book 2 in a series, and I wish now that I had read the first one. But, I enjoyed reading this wonderful and warm story about the Amish and would highly recommend it to everyone.
